Course Overview

This is a 2-hour workshop intended for clinical teachers and preceptors from any and all specialties. It is the fourth of a series of interprofessional Clinical Teaching Workshops being offered through the IHP Office of Continuing and Professional Development.


  • Create strategies for achieving direct observations of learners' clinical performance
  • Practice the skill of making decisions about learners' competence
  • Use competency decisions to determine supervision and autonomy balance/entrustment decisions
